A host of new features are coming to EA FC 26, with EA Sports confirming there will be five new EA FC 26 PlayStyles when the game is launched.

EA FC 26 will be released worldwide on Friday, September 26, while players with EA FC 26 early access can dive in from Friday, September 19. Hype surrounding the new game is building fast, with EA Sports revealing all the new additions to the game over the last few months.

From deep dives into EA FC 26 gameplay to confirming all the licensed teams and leagues in the latest EA Sports FC instalment, there's plenty of new content being added for EA FC 26, but there's one big gameplay change that hasn't been touched on in extreme detail – new EA FC 26 PlayStyles.

PlayStyles were added to the game in EA FC 24, with the only change made since release being the addition of goalkeeper PlayStyles at the start of EA FC 25 and the Low Driven Shot PlayStyle halfway through the EA FC 25 cycle.

We were able to try out the new EA FC 26 PlayStyles when we played EA FC 26 at a first-look event at the EA Sports HQ in July, and from our experience, some of the new EA FC 26 PlayStyles could be the new meta when the game is officially released.

New EA FC 26 PlayStyles explained

EA confirmed in its gameplay deep dive that there would be five new PlayStyles added in EA FC 26, while four PlayStyles have been removed from the game. The four PlayStyles that have been removed are Trivela, Flair, Power Header and Aerial, but four of the new PlayStyles are sort of refreshing what these PlayStyles were.

These are the new EA FC 26 PlayStyles, along with what each one can do:

Enforcer

A new physical PlayStyle suited towards attackers, Enforcer helps players hold the ball from attackers more effectively while initiating in contact and dribbling. When we tried this out, it was extremely overpowered for the players who had it, with defenders struggling to regain possession when the attacker was running towards the goal.

Gamechanger

The Gamechanger PlayStyle is awarded to players known for their extraordinary and unconventional finishes, combining and refining elements from the former Flair and Trivela PlayStyles. This means in EA FC 26, only players with the Gamechanger PlayStyles can perform trivela shots.

Inventive

The Inventive PlayStyle is given to players who specialise in creative passing, combining and refining the former Flair and Trivela PlayStyles. This means that only players with this PlayStyle can perform trivela passes.

Aerial Fortress

Aerial Fortress is a new PlayStyle given to defensive players who dominate aerial battles, but it only applies in defensive scenarios. This reconfigures the former Aerial PlayStyle to give it a more defensive focus. Like the former Aerial PlayStyle, Aerial Fortress will give players a higher jump and also a more physical presence before and during aerial duels.

Precision Header

The answer to the removal of the Power Header PlayStyle, Precision Header is given to offensive players who specialise in controlled, accurate headers, rather than just raw power towards the goal. Refined from the former Power Header PlayStyle, with more focus on aerial battles and heading accuracy. Players with this PlayStyle will have a lot more accuracy and power in their attacking headers.
