Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan defeated UAE by 41 runs and made a place in Super-4

Delhi: Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE) were face to face in the 10th match of Group A of Asia Cup 2025. The match was played at the International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. After the delay from the scheduled time, the match started at 7:30 pm (local), while the toss took place at 7 pm. (Indian time – Toss took place at 8.30 pm and the first ball of the match was thrown at 9.00 pm).

The United Arab Emirates team won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Pakistan’s innings

Pakistan set a target of 147 runs to win in front of the United Arab Emirates. In a do or die match, Pakistan has scored 146 runs losing 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman scored the highest 50 runs for the team, while Shaheen Shah Afridi added 29 runs off 14 balls.

In bowling, Junaid Siddiqui took four wickets from UAE, Simranjit Singh achieved three successes and Dhruv Parashar got one wicket.

UAE’s innings

In response, the UAE team chased the target set and was reduced to just 105 runs in 17.4 overs. Rahul Chopra (35) and Dhruv Parashar (20) played the biggest innings from the Arab team. Apart from him, UAE had high expectations from his captain and opener Mohammad Wasim. But, he could not do anything special with the bat this time. Wasim was dismissed for only 14 runs off 15 balls, including two fours.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed took two wickets each, while Sym Job and Salman Ali Aga returned one batsman each to the pavilion.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant batting and bowling.

In India-Pakistan Super-4

India and Pakistan have made it to the Super-4 from Group A. India won both their matches and topped the four points with four points and +4.793 net run rate and will now face Oman on 19 September.

At the same time, Pakistan won two of the three matches – defeated Oman by 93 runs and defeated UAE, while they lost to India. He finished second with four points and +1.790 net run rate. UAE and Oman finished third and fourth respectively.
