Actress Lana Wong says she is moving to reclaim an inheritance allegedly left to her by her late partner, lawyer–politician Woo Pak Chuen, reportedly worth over HK$30 million (US$3.8 million).

At her birthday banquet on Oct. 11, Wong told reporters she plans to approach Hong Kong’s Legal Aid Department to handle the matter, according to The Star.

“The agency will run an investigation,” she said. “Since 12 years have passed, there’s no need for a lawsuit.”

Asked whether she feared a challenge from Woo’s children, Wong said she was not worried, adding that she expects the process to conclude within months. She said she intends to channel the funds into philanthropy, including building a nursing home next to a Buddhist temple and completing a Guanyin statue there. The land has already been acquired, she noted.

“Once I receive the inheritance, I’ll donate the money to my own charity foundation,” Wong added, stressing that she remains financially secure regardless of the outcome.

Wong, 95, said she first met Woo—who was married at the time—when she was 18, according to an interview with the South China Morning Post. She is now married to former racing driver Albert Poon.
