iOS 26 Update: When Apple launched a new user interface called ‘Liquid Glass’ in iOS 26, there were mixed reactions among users regarding it. This new design left the traditional 2D look behind and focused on reflection and fluidity. However, some users were having trouble with its transparency and low contrast. Now in the beta update of iOS 26.1, Apple has made a big change and given two options to the users – clear and tinted theme.
According to MacRumors report, Apple has introduced a new tinted theme for ‘Liquid Glass’ in iOS 26.1 beta. This version is less transparent than the traditional clear theme and shows controls more clearly. Apart from this, better contrast is also seen in it, which makes the UI more visible and easy to read. Apple has made this change based on user feedback, which shows that the company is ready to adapt its software experience to its users.
If you want to try the tinted theme, you will first need to install iOS 26.1 beta on your iPhone. After this follow the steps given below:-
Go to Display & Brightness section

In this section you can choose Clear or Tinted theme
A preview will also appear before selection, allowing you to compare both themes.
The facility to customize transparency and contrast was already provided in the full version of iOS 26. The new tinted version further expands these settings, giving users more control over the interface.
The iOS 26.1 beta update is not limited to Liquid Glass only. Apple has made many other important changes in this beta. In which now users can disable direct camera access from the lockscreen, which will reduce the chances of accidental clicking.
Apple Intelligence now supports more languages, including: Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese. Support for Japanese, Korean, Italian and Chinese languages has now been added to the Live Translation feature for AirPods.
There has been no official announcement from Apple on when the final release of iOS 26.1 will be. However, it is expected that its wider rollout will be done by adding some more features in the coming weeks.
