New Delhi: In Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna has given deep teachings to Arjun on many important aspects of life. Shri Krishna said that man’s mind is his biggest friend and also his biggest enemy. When the mind is under control, there is stability and balance in life, but when the mind becomes restless and disturbed, the person falls into confusion and confusion. This is why control of mind is considered most important in Geeta.

Control of mind and subjugation of spirit

In verses 5 and 6 of the sixth chapter of Gita, Shri Krishna says, man should rise up through his own mind, because mind is his friend and mind is his enemy. He also said that wherever the mind wanders, from there it should be brought under the control of the soul. Continuous practice and renunciation are necessary to achieve this process, which is the real means of peace of mind. When the mind is controlled, the person derives his power not from outside circumstances, but from within himself.

Attain peace by being unaffected by desires

Lord Shri Krishna said in verse 70 of the second chapter of Gita that just as many rivers fall into the ocean, it still remains stable, similarly, only the person who remains unaffected by desires attains peace. From this sermon we learn that the outer world is constantly changing, but the person who maintains his inner stability remains calm and balanced despite the ups and downs of life.

Importance of satisfaction and self-control

Special emphasis has also been given on contentment and self-control in Geeta. Shri Krishna said in verse 7 of the sixth chapter that, the one whose mind is satisfied, who controls his thoughts, remains the same in situations like happiness-sorrow, heat-cold. In such a situation the person is called a Yogi in the true sense. In verse 38 of the second chapter of Gita, Shri Krishna had told Arjun to act with equal respect in happiness-sorrow, profit-loss, victory-defeat. This balance is the true stability of life.

basis of spiritual peace

The essence of the Bhagavad Gita is that real peace and happiness are not achieved by external circumstances, but by inner stability. When a person conquers his desires, anger and thoughts, then he wins the biggest battle of life. In Gita, Lord Shri Krishna made it clear that true peace and happiness are achieved only through control of the mind, renunciation of desires and balanced vision.
