SpaceX launches 2 rockets within 4 hours from Florida
15 Nov 2025
SpaceX has achieved a remarkable feat by launching two Falcon 9 rockets from Florida in less than four hours.
The first rocket lifted off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center at 10:08pm on Friday, while the second followed suit from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 1:44am on Saturday.
These back-to-back missions were SpaceX's 145th and 146th Falcon 9 launches this year.
Both rockets carried 29 Starlink satellites each
Mission details
Both Falcon 9 rockets launched by SpaceX carried a batch of 29 Starlink satellites each.
The launches were part of SpaceX's effort to expand its already massive satellite network, which now has over 8,900 operational satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO).
After liftoff, both boosters successfully landed on drone ships in the Atlantic Ocean—an important step that keeps costs down and allows for reuse.
Rapid launch schedule fuels Starlink's growth
Expansion strategy
The rapid-fire launch schedule is what drives the fast-paced growth of Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet service.
Each successful mission brings the company closer to its goal of providing reliable internet access to people around the world.
This aggressive expansion strategy has helped SpaceX solidify its position as a leader in global satellite internet and space technology.
