New Delhi. If you are a customer of State Bank of India (SBI), then this news is important for you. In fact, the bank has announced that it will stop the facility of making claims except sending mCASH on OnlineSBI and YONO Lite after November 30, 2025. This means that after this date, customers will neither be able to send money through mCASH without beneficiary registration nor will they be able to claim the amount sent through mCASH link or app. The bank has said in a message on its official website that customers should start using other secure and popular digital payment options in time. These include mediums like UPI, IMPS, NEFT and RTGS, which are currently counted among the most reliable online fund transfer services across the country.
What is mCASH?
The mCASH facility was mainly used for faster payments, in which money could be sent through the link even without registering the beneficiary in advance. However, considering the security and expansion of new technology, SBI is now phasing out this service. The bank has advised customers to immediately switch to alternative payment options to continue digital transactions without any hassle. Mediums like UPI and IMPS facilitate instant payments, while NEFT and RTGS are considered safe options for large transactions.
How to use mCASH?
After downloading the SBI mCASH application from Google Play Store, register the mPIN to log in. Using the registered mPIN, customers can log in to SBI mCASH app. Transfer the claim amount sent by a State Bank customer to his account in any bank using the passcode. Customers can set the account number and IFSC code as favorites for future claims.
Let us tell you that State Bank of India allows mCASH recipients to claim funds sent by SBI customers through OnlineSBI or State Bank Anywhere. With this service, any SBI customer who has internet banking can transfer money using only the recipient’s mobile number or email ID, without registering anyone as a beneficiary.
