On Wednesday, the Patiala House Court in Delhi ordered the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to take gangster Anmol Bishnoi into custody for 11 days in connection with the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui. Special Public Prosecutor Rahul Tyagi, representing the NIA alongside advocate Kushdeep Gaur, highlighted Bishnoi's suspected involvement in a criminal syndicate. Anmol, who had been on the run since 2022, is the nineteenth individual to be arrested in this case linked to the terrorist gangster syndicate led by his incarcerated brother, Lawrence Bishnoi.

NIA Seeks Custodial Interrogation

The NIA emphasized the necessity of custodial interrogation to uncover the extensive operational framework of the group. The agency informed the court that questioning Bishnoi is crucial for tracing the source of funds, identifying other members, and understanding the syndicate's operational methods. They further stated that insights from Bishnoi's statements could assist investigators in reaching out to others connected to the network.

Anmol Bishnoi Extradited from the US

Earlier today, Anmol Bishnoi was brought back to India from the United States. Upon landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport, he was formally handed over to the NIA. He is wanted in various parts of the country for his alleged involvement in a large organized crime and extortion network linked to his elder brother, Lawrence Bishnoi. A total of 31 cases have been registered against this gangster in Rajasthan, Punjab, and Maharashtra. Earlier this month, authorities received information that Bishnoi, who frequently traveled between the US and Canada, had been detained in Canada.
