Many things have been said in Ayurveda. Be it a matter of daily routine or food habits. In Ayurveda, many rules have been given regarding health, eating habits and many remedies for diseases have also been given. Because Ayurveda is not just a medical system but a lifestyle. By following the principles of Ayurveda, you can stay away from many diseases. At the same time, many things have been prohibited in Ayurveda due to health reasons. However, knowingly or unknowingly most of us practice these things on a daily basis. Let us know what those things are.
These tasks are considered prohibited in Ayurveda.
drinking cold water after meals
Drinking cold water immediately after meals slows down the digestive fire, slows down metabolism and causes fat to accumulate in the intestines. Many modern studies have also shown that it slows down the activity of enzymes and reduces the absorption of nutrients. And the body does not even get nutrients.
not eating breakfast or cold food
Breakfast is considered the most important part of the day. It provides energy to the body for the whole day. Also, your breakfast and lunch should not be cold, but quite hot. According to Ayurveda, morning is the time of “Kapha”, hence it is important to eat warm and light food. But often we skip breakfast or eat cold food while going to work because it takes time to eat hot food. Therefore, its benefits are not available as much as they should be.
sleeping late and waking up late
according to ayurveda The best time to wake up in the morning is Brahma Muhurta (before sunrise). This helps maintain hormonal balance and achieve mental clarity. Staying awake till late night is considered very harmful for health.
Excessive phone use after sunset
After sunset, you should stay away from things like your phone or TV. The blue light emitted from these devices disrupts the sleep hormone (melatonin). In Ayurvedic language it is called Pitta Agama. And nowadays everyone falls asleep while watching mobile or TV before sleeping. This not only prevents sleep but also has a bad effect on health.
Avoid eating fruits with or after meals.
Eating fruits with or immediately after meals can cause ama (toxins) and fermentation in the stomach. Nutritionists also say that the sugars present in fruits are quickly digested, which when combined with heavy meals can cause acidity and flatulence. Therefore, fruits should never be eaten with or immediately after meals.
bathing immediately after eating
Taking bath immediately after meals can spoil the digestion process. According to Ayurveda, bathing should be done at least two hours after meals.
drink water while standing
Drinking water while standing disrupts the filtering process of the kidneys and puts pressure on the veins. That is why Ayurveda always recommends sitting comfortably and drinking water slowly. But many people do not follow this rule in the rush of work.
Eating milk with fruits, salt and fish
Milk, fruits, salt and fish are considered “anti-foods”. Consuming them together can cause skin disorders, allergies and intestinal imbalance. Modern science also suggests that these foods inhibit protein absorption.
Eating while sad, angry, or talking on the phone
If you eat food while sad, angry or talking on the phone, your digestion process slows down. This can cause many types of digestive problems.
Does not change with weather.
Ritu Ayurveda emphasizes on adapting diet, lifestyle and sleep regimens according to the changing seasons. Modern science also confirms this.
