The number of fake Aadhaar cards is constantly increasing. Therefore, you should check if your Aadhaar is genuine in just two minutes. The process is simple and hassle-free. Let's explain how.

First, you need to visit the official UIDAI website, https://uidai.gov.in/hi/, where all Aadhaar-related information is stored, and its authenticity can be verified from there. The option to "Verify Aadhaar Number" is available on the homepage.

If the number is correct, your Aadhaar number appears on the screen, followed by "Exists." If your Aadhaar is genuine, some basic details related to your Aadhaar are also displayed on the screen. This information is displayed only to prove that the Aadhaar exists in the records.

Your personal information is not displayed, which protects your privacy. If the Aadhaar is fake, the system immediately displays "Invalid Aadhaar," meaning the card you have is not genuine. In such a situation, you should immediately go to the nearest Aadhaar center and have your Aadhaar reissued.

Some people also verify Aadhaar by scanning a QR code. UIDAI's official app, mAadhaar, has an option to scan the QR code. The correct information appears on the screen as soon as the QR code of a genuine Aadhaar card is scanned. The QR code of a fake card is not scanned at all.
