Big decision regarding pollution in Delhi, 50 percent employees of both government and private will work from home.

New Delhi, 25 November. In view of increasing pollution in Delhi, the government has taken a big decision. Now 50 percent of employees in government and private offices will work from home. This decision has been taken under the instructions of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). This instruction was issued under Section 5 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 for all Delhi government offices and private establishments operating in the national capital.

  • What is said in the order of Delhi government?

All government offices under GNCTD (Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi) and all private offices operating in the National Capital Territory of Delhi will function with 50% staff under the Graded Response Action Plan and the remaining staff will work from home. For Government offices under GNCTD- All Administrative Secretaries and Heads of Departments will come to the office regularly and maximum 50% of the staff will be physically present in the office.

It is noteworthy that the pollution situation in the National Capital Region remains serious. The average air quality index of Delhi was recorded at 382 points on Monday evening whereas it was 391 points a day earlier on Sunday. The order exempts essential services, which include essential services including hospitals, other public and private health establishments, fire services, public transport, electricity, water, sanitation and municipal services, disaster management, pollution control.
