In the ever-buzzing world of showbiz celebrities are always scrutinised for how they behave and what they say. Sometimes even a passing remark can take over the headline and turn into a full-blown debate. One such similar situation happened recently when veteran actress and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan questioned the dressing sense and professionalism of paparazzi. Her statement quickly went viral and created a buzz on social media. Now days later another legendary actor politician Shatrughan Sinha has also added a remark on Jayas statement. Shahtrughan Sinhas statement is contrasting and also extends support to paparazzi.
Jaya Bachchan’s Criticism Sparks Debate
Jaya Bachchan has often been vocal about her discomfort with intrusive photography. At a recent conversation with Barkha Dutt she criticised the behaviour of some photographers and questioned their profession and sense. She said: “Bahar drain-pipe type gande-gande pants pehen kar haath mein mobile le kar… They think just because they have a phone they can take your picture and say whatever they want along with the kind of comments they pass.”
She continued: “Wearing dirty pants like drainpipes and with a mobile in their hands they think they can take your picture.”
As soon as she made this statement netizens were quick to react with mixed responses. Some agreed with her views on professionalism while others felt she was too harsh on photographers who often work in unpredictable environments.
Shatrughan Sinha Counters Her Remarks with a Light-Hearted Compliment
Just days after the controversy Shatrughan Sinha attended an event in Mumbai for the unveiling of Society Achievers magazine. There he openly supported the paparazzi and even praised their attire. Appearing alongside actress Poonam Dhillon Sinha said “Aap log pant bhi achi pehente hain aur shirt bhi achhi pehente hain.” (“You wear nice pants and shirts.”)
His comment instantly lightened the atmosphere and made people laugh. Poonam Dhillon also expressed delight and positivity. She said “The new year has already begun.”
A Debate with Two Strong Perspectives
While Jaya Bachchan’s remarks focused on professionalism and evolving standards of media conduct Shatrughan Sinha’s response highlighted appreciation for the paparazzi’s hard work and presence.
