CBSE: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued instructions for students appearing in the Class 10 board examinations in 2026. These instructions are specifically for the Science and Social Science subjects. Students appearing for the Class 10 exams can find the examination guidelines on the official CBSE website. The examinations will be conducted from February 17, 2026, to March 10, 2026.
This year, the Class 10 Science and Social Science question papers have been divided into different sections to improve the quality of evaluation.
Science: The question paper is divided into three sections:
Section A: Biology
Section B: Chemistry
Section C: Physics
Social Science: The question paper is divided into four sections:
Section A: History
Section B: Geography
Section C: Political Science
Section D: Economics
Write answers in the correct section.
In the Class 10 board examination, it is mandatory to write the answers for Science in three sections (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and for Social Science in four sections (History, Geography, Political Science, Economics). Write the answer to each question only in its designated section; do not write or mix answers in other sections.
No improvement in re-evaluation
If answers are mixed across sections, they will not be evaluated, and no marks will be awarded. Such errors will not be accepted or considered during verification or re-evaluation after the declaration of the results.
The Board has instructed schools to ensure that students do not make any mistakes in the board examination. Schools should conduct necessary practice sessions before the exams. Schools can also incorporate these instructions in the pre-board examinations so that students are prepared to write answers correctly according to the new rules and sections.
