The BBC aired the 2024 Christmas special of the beloved restoration programme, The Repair Shop, this evening (Wednesday, December 17). During the heartwarming episode, which later descended into complete chaos, viewers watched as two giant fibreglass puffins, gifted to a children's bookshop, made their way through the famous barn's doors. The two birds welcomed generations of children into the bookshop over the years and needed a renovation. The Repair Shop favourites Dominic Chinea and Brenton West were tasked with giving the puffins a new lease of life so they could continue bringing joy to the bookshop. Meanwhile, Will Kirk, Steve Fletcher, and Mark Stuckey grouped together to revive an enchanting miniature Christmas village.
Following some tearful restorations, the BBC programme descended into chaos as a group of children eager to see the revamped puffins were encouraged to take part in a snowball fight with the cast.
It all started when Dominic threw a snowball at Brenton's head, causing the children to gasp and cackle.
Amanda Middleditch, better known as one of the Teddy Bear Ladies, then yelled: "Come on, kids, let's get them."
Seconds later, the mischievous youngsters were rolling up snowballs and attacking Dominic with them as he tried to take cover behind one of the puffins.
However, Amanda clearly didn't want to be involved in the madness and cheekily ran off back into the safety of the barn. It was caught on camera as she made her swift exit as the fight continued.
Elsewhere in the episode, Suzie Fletcher restored a donkey's saddle, which had been handed down through four generations of farmers. The saddle was originally used by its owner, who had ridden it since he was seven years old, to ride his donkey into town to deliver gifts and spread happiness.
The Repair Shop can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
