A big disclosure has been made under the campaign (Ration Card Verification) being run by the Central Government to improve the public distribution system. Out of the list of 8.51 crore suspected beneficiaries prepared by the Centre, states and union territories have so far identified 2.12 crore beneficiaries. fake pds The names of the beneficiaries have been removed. This information was given in Parliament on Wednesday.

Five kg of food grains per person per month is provided to eligible beneficiaries under the Public Distribution System under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). At the same time, under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) run for the poorest class, there is a provision to provide 35 kg of food grains per family per month.

Giving a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Consumer and Food Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhania said that by removing fake names, space has been created for the genuine eligible beneficiaries included in the waiting list. He said that such cases were coming to light for a long time, in which ineligible people were also availing the benefits of the government food grain scheme.

According to the government, verification of ration cards is being done through Aadhaar seeding, e-KYC and digital records. Under this process, states have conducted investigations at their level and identified a large number of fake and duplicate beneficiaries. This has not only saved food grains, but also the benefits of the schemes have reached the real needy.

The Central Government has clarified that this process will continue in the times to come and continuous guidelines will be given to the states to make the public distribution system more transparent and effective.
