The vibrant Shiv Nuala tradition, a significant aspect of Gaddi culture honoring Lord Shiva, has made its way to Mumbai after successful events in Baddi, Chandigarh, and Delhi.

The inaugural Shiv Nuala in Mumbai took place on December 21 at Chembur, organized by the Himachal Pradesh Taxi Operators Association, Mumbai, in collaboration with the Himachal Mitral Mandali, a community group founded in 1952. This organization has a long-standing commitment to assisting Himachalis in need, including those battling cancer.

Dushyant (Pahal) coordinated the event, with Rajinder Kapoor serving as President, Beena Sippi as Vice-President, Chaukas Bhardwaj as Chief Patron, and Sanjay Kapoor as Secretary.

Popular Himachali folk artist Sunil Rana and his team captivated the audience with devotional bhajans dedicated to Lord Shiva, inspiring joyous dancing among the attendees.

Dr. Janak Raj, the MLA from Bharmaur, was present as a special guest. He expressed his appreciation for the organizers, describing Shiv Nuala as a priceless heritage of Gaddi culture. He highlighted the importance of preserving this tradition as both a duty and a sacred obligation, noting that Shiv Nuala, traditionally celebrated during joyful occasions in Gaddi culture, has now found a place in Mumbai.

Dr. Raj congratulated the Mandali for their successful organization of the event and commended their efforts to keep cultural traditions alive while supporting the Himachali community in Mumbai.

This celebration marked a notable cultural achievement, bringing the essence of Himachal’s Gaddi heritage to the vibrant city of Mumbai.
