Violence in Rajasthan: A disagreement over the removal of stones outside a mosque close to the local bus stop sparked tension in Chomu town, Rajasthan, on Thursday night, December 25. Rapid escalation of the situation led to a significant police presence in the neighborhood.

Crowds gathered at the location, forcing police to deploy tear gas to contain the situation. According to the news outlet IANS, senior police officers and administrative staff hurried to the scene to keep an eye on the situation and maintain order.

Authorities have temporarily halted internet access in Chomu from 7:00 am on December 26 to 7:00 am on December 27 in order to stop any rumors or false information.

Reports said that the event happened at approximately three in the morning when some workers started erecting railings at the spot that had been cleaned. A sizable crowd gathered close to the bus stop and began throwing stones at the cops as the demonstration swiftly intensified. Approximately six police officers were hurt during the stone-throwing. Police used tear gas shells to scatter the crowd when things got out of hand, according to NDTV India.
