Dehradun: The politics of Uttarakhand has once again come to a boil regarding the Ankita Bhandari murder case. During the ‘All-Party Chief Minister’s Residence March’ organized in Dehradun, veteran Congress leader Ganesh Godiyal made sharp attacks on the state government. He clearly said that the speed at which incidents of exploitation of women have increased in Uttarakhand during the BJP rule has tarnished the image of Devbhoomi. Godiyal called that now is the time when every resident of the state has to unite and fight against these unjust incidents.

Uttarakhand becomes number 1 in crime among Himalayan states

Citing the figures, Ganesh Godiyal expressed deep concern over the situation in the state. He said that today our Uttarakhand has reached the first position among all the Himalayan states in terms of crime against women. The most shameful thing is that in all the incidents of exploitation that are coming to light, names of the leaders of the ruling party are getting linked to them. Godiyal said in strong words that in the eyes of BJP leaders, the value of honoring our mother power has been reduced to only Rs 20-25 thousand, which is a matter of despair for the entire state.

Why did the government smell a snake in the name of VIP?

Referring to the Ankita Bhandari case, the State Congress President raised big questions on the intentions of the government. He said that even after three years, Ankita has not got justice. Now when the name of BJP’s National General Secretary and Uttarakhand in-charge Dushyant Gautam has come up in discussions as a ‘VIP’ in this matter, it is as if the government has smelled a snake. Godiyal alleged that useless arguments were being given by the police so that the CBI investigation could be avoided. He taunted and said that instead of investigating itself, the government is asking for evidence from the public, what could be more ridiculous than this?

Congress movement will not stop until justice is given

The Congress leader has made it clear that the party’s struggle will continue to provide justice to Ankita Bhandari and other daughters of the state. He warned that this movement of Congress is not going to stop until the real criminals are behind the bars and the mask is not removed from the faces of VIPs. Former ministers Hira Singh Bisht, Shoorveer Singh Sajwan, Mahila President Jyoti Rautela and hundreds of other workers participated in this protest and raised their voice against the government.
