Check by putting it in water- FSSAI has also given some ways to identify it, in which the first way is to check the tea leaves by putting them in water. For this, take water in a glass and add some dry tea leaves. Real tea will release color slowly. But fake tea leaves will give off dark color immediately because chemical colors are added to it.
Rub on palm- Rub tea leaves on the palm of your hand. If black or brown color appears on the palm, the tea may be fake. Because real tea does not color the palm.
Do magnet test- Take a paper and spread tea leaves on it. After this place a magnet on it. If iron particles have been mixed in the tea leaves, they will stick to the magnet.
Check after boiling- Add tea leaves in a cup of water and boil. Now filter the tea and keep it aside. If after some time there is foam in the tea then it is adulterated. Because tea made from real tea leaves is clear.
See the shape of the teacup- The shape of real tea leaves is uneven and natural. But in fake tea, the leaves may be uniform, of the same color and may be very shiny or dusty.
