After conducting “water audit” in various areas of Indore, Umang Singhar has said that water in most of the areas of the city is dirty and not fit for drinking. After the health crisis arising out of contaminated drinking water in Bhagirathpura, the Leader of Opposition himself conducted water audit in many areas of Indore. After this he alleged that the sleeping BJP government will wake up only after another ‘Bhagirathpura’.

Let us tell you that Congress is continuously questioning the government on this matter. Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has demanded a judicial inquiry and a public hearing regarding this. Jitu Patwari has demanded registration of a criminal case against the culprits in this case and is also demanding appropriate compensation to the victims.

Umang Singhar surrounded the government

Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar himself conducted a water audit to investigate the problem of contaminated drinking water in various areas of Indore. He along with Congress leaders visited several hamlets and colonies, collected water samples and interacted with local residents. After this he has alleged that the problem of contaminated drinking water is not limited to Bhagirathpura only, but in many parts of the city the drinking water is highly contaminated and not potable.

Said, ‘The situation of the entire city is bad, the government should take effective steps’

Umang Singhar said that even after such a big incident, the government is sleeping and perhaps it is waiting for another incident like Bhagirathpura. He said that ‘many Bhagirathpuras are being built inside Indore. In many areas people are falling ill due to contaminated water. Insects were found in water at many places. Why are such disturbances happening? BJP government has forgotten Mother Narmada and is making people drink contaminated water. I question the government. I do… it is the constitutional right of the people to get pure water. You are sacrificing thousands of crores of rupees to corruption and spending them on branding. He said that this is an alert. The government should take immediate cognizance of this and ensure that a situation like Bhagirathpura does not arise in entire Indore.
