On Saturday, Saravanan Annadurai, a prominent figure in the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), expressed strong criticism of the BJP following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Tamil Nadu, a state gearing up for elections. He claimed that the BJP is under the influence of the RSS, which he described as being worse than dynastic politics. Annadurai accused the NDA of betraying Tamil Nadu. Speaking to a news outlet in Chennai, he stated, "When it comes to the BJP, dynastic politics is acceptable, but they criticize opposition parties for the same. The people of Tamil Nadu have chosen us. Our leader, Udhayanidhi Stalin, has been campaigning since 2019, and we have never lost an election. What you are doing is worse than dynastic politics."

Annadurai further asserted that the BJP is entirely controlled by the RSS, which he claims is dominated by a few upper-caste Hindus. He reiterated that the NDA is betraying the interests of Tamil Nadu. Just a day prior, Prime Minister Modi had targeted the ruling DMK-led coalition in Tamil Nadu, alleging that the state government lacks democratic values and accountability.

During a public meeting in Madurantakam, Chengalpattu district, PM Modi remarked that the DMK government prioritizes the interests of a single family over those of the state's citizens. He noted that opportunities for advancement within the DMK appear limited, often favoring individuals with dynastic ties or those involved in corruption, mistreatment of women, or disrespecting the culture. He added that as a result, only those willing to engage in such behaviors are receiving promotions within the party, leading to severe consequences for Tamil Nadu as the state suffers from the repercussions of these actions.
