Spotify has introduced a major update for its users, enhancing the music listening experience. Users can now access lyric translations, offline lyric support, and a new design. Let's find out more...
Spotify has made its lyrics feature even more powerful. Now, users can not only read song lyrics on Spotify but also see their translations. The company has announced that the lyrics translation feature is now available to all Free and Premium users worldwide. Previously, this feature was limited to only 25 countries. Users can now tap on the translator icon on the lyrics card to see the translation below the original lyrics. The translation is displayed according to the user's device language settings, and users can switch back to the original lyrics at any time. This makes understanding songs in foreign languages much easier than before.
Offline Lyrics Support
Similar to Apple Music, Spotify now also offers offline lyrics support. If a user downloads a song for offline listening, its lyrics will also be downloaded automatically. This means that Premium subscribers can read song lyrics even without an internet connection. This feature is especially beneficial for people who travel frequently or are in areas with poor internet connectivity. Now, users can sing along to their favorite songs even on flights, trains, or in areas with no network coverage.
New Lyrics Design on the Screen
Spotify has also introduced a new design for lyrics on the Now Playing screen. Now, while a song is playing, the lyrics will appear directly below the album artwork or Canvas video. This eliminates the need for users to constantly switch screens, making it even easier to read the lyrics along with the music. Initial testing has shown that this new layout helps users connect more deeply with the songs and encourages them to rediscover old or forgotten tracks. Additionally, users can still share their favorite lyric lines directly on social media platforms. Those who prefer a clean interface can disable this feature by going to the three-dot menu and selecting the 'Lyrics Off' option.
