The issue of ruckus created by Congress MPs in the chamber of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla does not seem to be calming down. Once again, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju fiercely targeted the Congress MPs and said that we remained in the opposition for so many years but never did this. He also said that if we had given free rein to our MPs, Mahabharata would have broken out there. While responding to the allegation of abusing, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra claimed that we did not abuse.

Expressing disappointment over the uproar by opposition MPs in the Speaker's Chamber, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju posted a video of the incident and said that if we had given free hand to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and NDA MPs, Mahabharata would have happened there. And it doesn't feel good. He also said that Congress leaders also abused him there.

We always worked with restraint: Rijiju

He said, "We also acted with restraint. We cannot behave like the Congress. We hope that these people will reform now. We too have been in the opposition for so many years, but we never did this.

The Union Minister said, “It was also said on behalf of the opposition MPs that if PM (Narendra Modi) comes to the House, let us see what he does.”

I was sitting quietly: Priyanka Gandhi

On the ruckus created by the opposition MPs in the Lok Sabha Speaker's chamber and the video allegedly being made there, Kiren Rijiju said, "This is an illegal video clip which was made by a Congress MP when 20 to 25 Congress MPs entered the Speaker's chamber, abused him and also threatened the Prime Minister. Our party believes in debate and discussion and our MPs never encourage fighting."

On the other hand, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on Kiren Rijiju's allegation of instigating abuses, "We did not abuse anyone. It is true that one or two MPs were enraged, and they also expressed it. She (Rijiju) also said that I was provoking them, but this is a lie. I was sitting quietly. In the end, I calmly said some things to the Speaker."

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rijiju had also said yesterday about the uproar in the Speaker's chamber, "At least 20 to 25 Congress MPs entered the Lok Sabha Speaker's chamber and abused him. I was also present there. The Speaker is a very soft-hearted person, otherwise strict action would have been taken. Many senior Congress leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and KC Venugopal, were also present inside, and they were instigating him to fight."
