According to tradition, Holi is a festival of two days, in which Holika is lit with the help of wood and cakes in the evening on the first day and happiness is celebrated with colors and gulal on the next day.
According to the Panchang, this time the Purnima Tithi will start from the evening of March 2 and will continue till the evening of March 3. In view of the recognition of Udaya Tithi, the main program of Holika Dahan will be conducted on March 3, after which Dhulendi i.e. Holi of colors will be played the next day on March 4.
If you too are preparing for Holika Puja this year, then definitely keep in mind the auspicious time.
According to religious beliefs, Holika Dahan is celebrated in the memory of the unwavering devotion of devotee Prahlad and the grace of Lord Vishnu. This festival teaches us that no matter how powerful evil is, truth and goodness always triumph.
On the day of Holika Dahan, people collect wood near their homes and light the fire at an auspicious time. During this time, prayers are offered for the happiness, peace and prosperity of the family. At many places, people also offer parts of their new crops like ears of wheat in this sacred fire, which is considered very auspicious.
