Video of Scenic Border Brew Cafe Shared by Government

This innovative concept makes it one of its kind in the entire northeastern region, blending heritage infrastructure with modern utility and tourism potential, an official release said.

A video of the scenic Border Brew Cafe was shared by the MyGov Arunachal Pradesh handle on X (formerly Twitter). The cafe has been developed under the banner of Operation Sadbhavna, the Indian Army's initiative to foster trust and development in remote areas. In a remarkable achievement, the Indian Army completed the construction of this project in just 31 days. What makes it extra special is that it's constructed atop a decommissioned Bailey Bridge spanning the scenic Ngyamjang Chu river. The post, which includes a short video, gives a glimpse of the setup, explains how this unique spot is designed to do double duty: lend a helping hand to nearby communities while giving tourism in Arunachal a solid boost.

The Tawang district public relations officer, in a post on X, said: "A first in Northeast India, Border Brew Cafe at Jemithang — an inspiring initiative by the @adgpi under OpSadbhavna — is now OPEN. Built on a decommissioned Bailey bridge over the Ngyamjang Chu. Empowering Monpa communities and boosting local livelihoods."

Decommissioned bridge found a new life

The decommissioned bridge has found new life, turning what was once just infrastructure into a welcoming hub for travellers and residents alike. With Arunachal Pradesh steadily emerging as a tourism hotspot, this café could well become a must-visit landmark for those venturing into the state's lesser-explored corners.

The video shared alongside the update has already started drawing curious eyes online, showcasing the café's distinctive location in action. The video is being shared by several top government officials, including the Arunchal Pradesh Chief Minister and senior central government official Sanjeev Sanyal. As more details trickle in from the ground, one thing is clear: this small but smart initiative is set to leave a lasting impression on the border region.
