Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has spoken out on social media following the arrival of his son ahead of Sunday's Carabao Cup final. The Spaniard has established himself as a crucial figure for Mikel Arteta's squad since his move to north London from Brentford in August 2023.

Raya originally signed for Arsenal on a season-long loan before completing a permanent transfer for £27 million 12 months later. The 30-year-old has registered a Premier League-best 15 clean sheets this campaign as the Gunners hunt down a first league crown since 2004.

Arsenal are also aiming to secure their first major silverware since 2020 on Sunday afternoon when they meet title contenders Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

It remains uncertain whether Raya will feature in this weekend's clash at Wembley Stadium, with Kepa Arrizabalaga having started every match in the tournament this season.

However, Raya has been given some heartwarming news before the fixture with the arrival of his son, Rio, with his wife Tatiana Trouboul. The model shared the announcement on her Instagram account - uploading a photograph of her husband cradling the newborn.

She said: "The luck of my life... and now our son's too. Watching you become a daddy has been one of the most exciting moments of my life.

"Happy first Father's Day, my life. Baby Rio is here already."

And Raya replied with a comment beneath the post. He said: "We are so lucky to have a mom like you with us.

"You have made my life spectacular and Rio couldn't ask for a better mom than you! I love them."

Raya's deputy, Arrizabalaga, has issued a warning to City ahead of Sunday's clash as his side looks to end their trophy drought.

He said: "We have big players who have played in big games, in finals, in the Euros, in the World Cup, in the Champions League. We know what it is to play in big games every three days.

"Manchester City have great players in every position, they are one of the strongest teams without a doubt. They have a lot of different options and depth of quality.

"For us though, hopefully this could be a way for us to open our trophy cabinet, and to keep it open."
