Karkala: Several parts of Karkala and Hebri taluks received good rainfall accompanied by thunder on Monday evening.

Rain was reported in Karkala town and surrounding areas including Ajekar, Shirlalu, Kervashe, Mala, Nooral Betta and Bajagoli. In Hebri taluk, rainfall was reported in Andaru, Mudradi and Kabbināle, along with nearby areas.

The sky remained cloudy from Monday afternoon, with rain beginning in the evening. While rainfall in areas around Karkala lasted for a short duration, rural regions experienced rain for more than half an hour.

In Mala village, lightning struck a tree, which caught fire and burned for some time, creating a brief situation of concern among residents.
