General Hospital fans were left shocked as the soap opera killed off Marco in the latest arc. Many fans expressed that they were more concerned about Lucasone of the beloved characters from the show, who now has to deal with the loss of Marco. Others, meanwhile, spoke about losing a talented actor on the show.
In the latest arc of General Hospital, Marco, who was involved in a storyline centered on obtaining a life-saving medication for Britt’s Huntington’s disease, was stabbed to death by WSB Director Ross Cullum.
The death came as quite a shock to the viewers, especially with Lucas being left all alone now.
One user started the conversation on Facebook’s General Hospital Fans- Official with a picture of Marco with the caption, “Didn’t expect for you to leave so soon.” Many others spoke about this in the comment section.
“Sorry the writers made this call. Not that I cared for Marco. But I care about Lucas. And the irony is that he is working to save the life of the man that killed him. Great storyline but still sad,” one user wrote. “I really didn’t want them to take Marco.. should have been Cullum and Sidewell,” another user wrote. “I think Marco was really good with Lucas!! Should not have left!!,” yet another user added.
Fans were not the only ones left heartbroken over the development. Lucas actor Van Hansis also opened up about his reaction to the storyline in an interview with Soap Opera Digest.
“I was heartbroken — and I was really sad for him, obviously, because nobody wants that [kind of news]. I wished he had more time to show different layers of the character because even on soaps, when we’re working so much, a year isn’t a long time, and he’s such a talented actor,” Hansis said about the development.
