Stranger Things fans shouldn't miss out on a "jewel of a film" that remains an all-time classic decades after its release.

While Stranger Things on Netflix primarily revolves around horrific monsters coming from the Upside Down, it's also a nostalgic 1980s-set drama about a tight-knit friendship group.

So it's easy to understand why Stranger Things fans would be excited to learn that 1980s classic film Stand By Me is now ready to stream on Paramount+.

Based on Stephen King's novella of the same name, Stand By Me tells the tale of four 12-year-old boys in 1959 Oregon who hike to find the body of a missing teenager.

The iconic movie, which won Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations, was directed by the late Rob Reiner and stars an abundance of familiar faces.

Stand By Me was one of River Phoenix's only films before he died at the age of 23 from drug intoxication.

He also starred in films including My Own Private Idaho, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Running On Empty which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Phoenix is joined by Star Trek: The Next Generation and The Big Bang Theory actor Will Wheaton, The Goonies and Gremlins actor Corey Feldman and Sliders actor Jerry O'Connell.

Another unforgettable star in Stand By Me is 24 and Designated Survivor actor Kiefer Sutherland who is behind bully Ace Merrill.

Praising the iconic film, a fan took to IMDb to post: "What a masterpiece! I was 11-years-old when I watched it for the first time on TV...It's still one of my favorite movies to this day."

Another said: "Simply one of the greatest movies ever made. From the performances to the setting to the story, this movie has zero flaws."

"I love this movie as I was a kid. I love this movie as an adult", a third echoed.

Someone else described it as a "jewel of a film", while a fellow user added: "I've seen this film numerous times and it always seems better than the time before. This is a perfect little film."

Stand By Me is available to watch on Paramount Plus.
