Mumbai: Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital here on Saturday.

According to Breach Candy’s Dr Pratit Samdani, the 92-year-old was rushed to the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest, reported India Today.

She is currently undergoing treatment in the Emergency Medical Services unit.

According to her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle, the singer is undergoing treatment for a chest infection.

“My grandmother, Asha Bhosle due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively,” Zanai wrote on X.

The younger sister of Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar, Asha has won numerous accolades, including the Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke award.
