The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday carried out searches at multiple locations linked to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal and his son in connection with alleged financial irregularities.
According to sources, the raids are being conducted across 8–9 locations, including premises in Gurugram, Punjab, and Jalandhar. ED officials have also reached Lovely Professional University (LPU), founded by Mittal, as part of the ongoing probe into suspected fund-related discrepancies.
The searches reportedly cover residential houses, farmhouses, and other associated properties linked to the MP and his family.
Reacting sharply to the development, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann alleged that the action was politically motivated. In a social media post, he accused the BJP of targeting AAP ahead of elections, saying, “The BJP begins preparations for the Punjab elections… ED raids at the residence and university of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal… typical Modi style.”
