Rishabh Pant Retired Hurt: In the 23rd match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced each other. In this match, Lucknow team lost the toss and came to bat first. But Lucknow Super Giants suffered a big setback at the very beginning of the match. Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant left the field due to injury. He had to face injury in the power play itself.
Lucknow team captain Rishabh Pant got injured on the fourth ball of the fifth over by Josh Hazlewood. Hazlewood bowled a slightly slower ball outside the short off stump, on which Pant tried to play a big shot, but the ball hit the inside edge and went towards the wicketkeeper. During this, the ball hit Pant's elbow, after which he appeared to be in a lot of trouble.
Pant immediately called the physio to take stock of his injury and also treated him with magic spray. But this injury was very painful and Pant seemed unable to remain on the field. Due to which Pant went out of the field groaning in pain and retired hurt. Josh Hazlewood immediately went to him and asked about his well-being and patted him on the back.
The string of injuries is showing no signs of stopping this season. Recently, Rohit Sharma of Mumbai Indians also had to retire due to injury. Rohit Sharma retired hurt against RCB only. Then he was seen complaining of pain in his right hamstring while batting. He also took treatment on the field and got a bandage on his knee, but due to increasing pain, he could not play further. On the other hand, Virat Kohli is also struggling with injury.
