Rajasthan: No respite from scorching heat, Kota reels at 42.1 deg C

Synopsis

Rajasthan is experiencing intense heatwaves. Kota recorded the highest temperature at 42.1 degrees Celsius. Other cities like Churu and Chittorgarh also saw temperatures soaring to 42 degrees Celsius. Many other parts of the state are facing maximum temperatures between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius. The heat is affecting daily life across the state.

Jaipur: With sweltering conditions worsening by the day, searing temperatures left Rajasthan reeling, as Kota recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 42.1 degrees Celsius.

According to the MeT, Churu and Chittorgarh recorded 42 degrees Celsius each, while Pilani (Jhunjhunu) registered 41.7 degrees, followed by Vanasthali (Tonk) at 41.6 degrees and Alwar at 41.5 degrees.

Barmer recorded 41.4 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 41 degrees, and Jaipur 40.5 degrees, the weather office said.


Most other places in the state recorded maximum temperatures between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius.
