In the capital Jaipur, traffic on Badi Chaupar road was disrupted due to falling of trees in front of Hawa Mahal. The Meteorological Department has issued orange alert of storm and rain in 19 districts including Jaipur and yellow alert in 8 districts. According to the department, strong winds can blow at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour.

Due to weather change, the temperature in most of the cities of the state fell below 40 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 33 degrees in Dungarpur, 35.7 degrees in Hanumangarh and 37 degrees in Fatehpur (Sikar). However, the effect of heat continued in cities like Kota and Jodhpur, where the temperature reached 42 to 44 degrees.

Jhunjhunu district received maximum rainfall of 39 mm during the last 24 hours. The drop in temperature in many districts including Sikar, Udaipur, Ajmer and Alwar brought relief to the people from the heat, but the humidity remained.

The Meteorological Department estimates that storms, rains and dusty winds may continue in the state for the next one week. In view of the heatwave in Jaisalmer, the timings of schools up to class 8 have been changed. While the changed weather across the state has provided relief from the heat, the strong storm and hailstorm have had a widespread impact on public life, traffic and the agricultural sector.
