BCCI has decided to open a front against the 'girlfriend culture' spreading in Indian cricket. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is now going to make strict rules regarding 'Girlfriend Culture' so that the players involved in it can be saved from its bad consequences. During IPL 2026, many players are seen roaming with their girlfriends. Be it Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Ishan Kishan or Yashasvi Jaiswal. Even some unknown players have been seen with their girlfriends in IPL 2026. BCCI's concern has increased regarding those girlfriends who stay with the players from the stadium and team bus to the team hotel.
According to the report of Dainik Jagran, preparations are being made to make the rules related to girlfriend culture stricter. Quoting a senior BCCI official, the report said that they are discussing making rules regarding players' girlfriends. This will be discussed in the next meeting of BCCI. A senior BCCI official said that there is no problem in the players staying in the hotel with their families and wives, but there is a need to be a little serious in the matter of girlfriends.
Among the girlfriends of the players playing IPL, there are many who have previously been associated with websites promoting betting. Recently, cases have been filed against many IPL players by their female friends. For those reasons, BCCI is now even more serious and is preparing to bring new and strict rules on girlfriend culture.
BCCI official said that earlier during the IPL, girlfriends were not allowed to stay in the players' hotels. But, it is not so now. Now it has become a trend for girlfriends to stay in the team hotel.
In the report, the BCCI official further said that he talked to an IPL anti-corruption unit official about taking his girlfriend to the team hotel. What he said on this was surprising. According to the BCCI official, the Anti Corruption Unit official told him that he has been asked to allow wives and officially announced girlfriends to stay with him. On this the BCCI official asked where did the rule of officially announced girlfriend come from? On which the Anti Corruption Unit officer said that Sir, we do it like this only.
It is clear that after knowing this, BCCI will soon bring new and strict rules regarding staying and not staying with girlfriend. Because, BCCI is afraid that some big uproar might happen. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the new rule related to girlfriend culture may be implemented in the next season of IPL. If this happens, then all the players who were roaming with their girlfriends this season, including names like Hardik, Ishaan, Arshdeep, Yashasvi, will not have such freedom in the next season.
