A petition has been filed in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the disproportionate assets case, in which a CBI investigation was demanded in this case. The criminal petition filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the case of alleged disproportionate assets has been accepted and the court will hear it soon. It has been demanded in the petition that CBI should register a regular case (RC) in this matter and start a detailed investigation.
This case was listed in the fresh case list on May 6 before the division bench of Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Justice Zafeer Ahmed. Before the hearing, petitioner S. Vignesh Shishir requested the court to consider the matter as extremely urgent and hear it in the chamber. Accepting this request, the court has given permission for hearing in the chamber this afternoon.
The petitioner has alleged in his petition that Rahul Gandhi and his family have assets disproportionate to their known sources of income, which requires an impartial investigation. CBI, ED, Income Tax Department, Home Ministry and Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) have also been made parties in this case.
The Gandhi family has been targeted over income for a long time, if the court orders CBI to investigate these allegations. So Rahul Gandhi's problems may increase and he may have to present evidence regarding his income.
