AC Milan’s disappointing end to the season has triggered a major shake-up at the club, with owner Gerry Cardinale reportedly set to dismiss the entire management team, including Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare. Head coach Massimiliano Allegri’s position is also said to be under serious threat, according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Rossoneri failed to secure a Champions League spot, prompting what could be sweeping changes at San Siro. Despite needing only a draw against Cagliari, who had already ensured their Serie A survival, Milan succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at home, slipping to fifth place in the final standings.

As per Gazzetta, this failure will have far-reaching consequences for the club’s leadership at Milanello. Chief Executive Officer Giorgio Furlani is expected to be relieved of his duties, alongside Sporting Director Igli Tare and Technical Director Geoffrey Moncada.

The future of Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains uncertain as well. Allegri, who returned to Milan last summer, may also be part of the upcoming restructuring despite having a contract valid until June 2027.

Speaking after the final whistle on Sunday, Allegri reflected on the campaign, saying, “You have to evaluate the whole season for what it was; the players gave everything they had.”

He added, “We made mistakes — I made mistakes — across these six defeats. It’s normal that the final result of the season influences how things are judged, but we must remain calm and assess everything with a clear mind.”

The 2-1 loss to Cagliari, coupled with Juventus’ draw, meant that Roma and Como claimed the remaining Champions League qualification spots, joining Inter and Napoli, both of whom won their matches on the final day of the Serie A season.
