Another Premier League campaign has drawn to a close, with all 20 clubs completing their final matches of the 2025/26 season on Sunday. Arsenal ended their 22-year wait for the title, emerging as deserved champions. But how many of their stars earned a place in our Team of the Season?
Let’s take a closer look.
David Raya had another top-notch season, producing some outstanding saves whenever Arsenal needed him most. The Spanish goalkeeper captured the Golden Glove award for the third straight year, keeping 19 clean sheets in 37 appearances.
Unfortunately, Jurrien Timber’s injury in mid-March forced him to miss the last two months of Arsenal’s title run. His absence was clearly felt, as the team wobbled soon after he picked up a knee problem. His potential return for next week’s UEFA Champions League final could be a huge boost for Mikel Arteta’s side as they prepare to face PSG.
William Saliba’s defensive prowess continues to be underappreciated by many, but the French centre-back remains one of the finest in world football. His composure, positional awareness, and ability to play out from the back make him a perfect complement to his defensive partner.
Gabriel, another vital component in Arteta’s setup, displayed his usual strength and aerial dominance. The Brazilian not only defended stoutly but also contributed offensively, scoring three goals from set pieces this season.
Manchester City found a surprise hero in Nico O’Reilly this season. The 21-year-old stepped up impressively when Pep Guardiola needed cover for the injured Rayan Ait-Nouri. O’Reilly soon became a regular starter and also shone in midfield, where his late runs into the box brought him five Premier League goals and three assists.
Declan Rice was the heartbeat of Arsenal’s title-winning campaign. The 27-year-old midfielder displayed his remarkable versatility, excelling in defence, attack, passing, and set pieces. Valued at over £100 million, Rice proved every bit worth the investment, exemplifying the all-round qualities of a modern midfielder.
Moises Caicedo truly stepped into world-class territory this season for Chelsea. The Ecuadorian’s relentless energy and skill in disrupting opposition play were vital. He finished with the second-most interceptions (57) in the league, just one behind James Garner (58) on the final day, highlighting his importance in Chelsea’s midfield.
One of the standout transfers of the season, Rayan Cherki transitioned seamlessly from Ligue 1 to the Premier League. The Frenchman was a creative powerhouse for Manchester City, providing 12 assists and recording an expected assists tally of 8.56xA, ranking second in both categories. He also created 60 chances—the seventh-highest total—and topped the league for open-play assists (11).
Bruno Fernandes once again carried Manchester United, guiding them to Champions League qualification despite a poor start to the campaign. The Portuguese playmaker broke the record for the most assists (21) in a single Premier League season, while also contributing eight goals.
Antoine Semenyo’s journey from non-league football to Premier League stardom continues to inspire. The versatile forward scored 17 goals this season, including one against Aston Villa on the final day. After netting 10 goals for Bournemouth, his January move to Manchester City brought immediate success, as he helped them lift both the League Cup and FA Cup while pushing Arsenal till the end.
Erling Haaland reaffirmed his status as the world’s premier striker, finishing with 27 league goals to claim his third Golden Boot in four years. The Norwegian also added 11 goals in other competitions, though he will likely feel he could have scored even more given his chances.
