Located in Los Angeles, SoFi Stadium is among the 11 venues across the United States selected to host matches during the FIFA World Cup 2026. It stands out as the only indoor stadium with a translucent roof among all the host venues.

Serving as the home ground for the NFL's Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, SoFi Stadium is one of 16 venues that will host the tournament across the three co-host nations — Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This summer, it is set to stage eight World Cup matches.

FourFourTwo brings you all the essential details about this impressive World Cup venue — from its capacity and design to its role in the 2026 tournament.

Fans attending the World Cup 2026 fixtures at SoFi Stadium will have multiple transport options. Dedicated bus routes will be available, and a special SoFi Shuttle service will operate from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the nearby metro station for major events.

Los Angeles Metro will offer extended services during the World Cup, connecting park-and-ride locations throughout the city. Those using the park-and-ride option will have the shuttle fare included in their parking cost, while others can pay the standard fare of $1.75 (approximately ₹145) per trip.

SoFi Stadium, which will be identified as Los Angeles Stadium for the World Cup, opened just six years prior to the tournament. The state-of-the-art venue not only features striking architecture but is also set to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028.

As the heart of NFL action in Southern California, SoFi Stadium serves as the home base for both Los Angeles-based teams. It is scheduled to host its second Super Bowl in early 2027 and has already staged major events such as the CONCACAF Gold Cup final and WrestleMania.

True to its reputation as a multi-purpose venue, SoFi Stadium has become a key destination for football fans in California. It has already hosted several international matches — both competitive and friendly — featuring clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Barcelona in Inglewood.

Eight matches will take place at the stadium during World Cup 2026, including fixtures featuring the United States against Paraguay and Turkiye, two matches for Iran, two Round of 32 games, and a quarter-final scheduled for July 10.

Situated in the city of Inglewood within the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, SoFi Stadium lies just east of Los Angeles International Airport and south of Hollywood, making it easily accessible for visitors.

For the World Cup 2026, SoFi Stadium will have a seating capacity of approximately 70,000 spectators.

Although there is no permanent football (soccer) club based at SoFi Stadium, it is one of only two venues in the United States that serve as shared stadiums for two NFL teams.

The Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams have both called SoFi Stadium home since its inauguration in 2020. The Chargers relocated from San Diego in 2017, while the Rams returned to Los Angeles from St. Louis to take residence in the newly constructed facility.

During the FIFA World Cup 2026, SoFi Stadium will host five group stage fixtures and three knockout stage matches.
