Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly identified a rising Premier League star as the most suitable long-term replacement for Ousmane Dembele. Bournemouth’s young sensation Eli Junior Kroupi has attracted the attention of the French champions following his impressive form in England, leading to widespread rumours of a possible high-profile return to France.

Emerging French talent in PSG’s sights

As per reports from French outlet But! Football Club, PSG have been tracking Kroupi closely since his early career at Lorient. The Parisian giants were long interested in the forward before Bournemouth used their strong relationship with Lorient to quickly finalise a transfer deal.

Since arriving in the Premier League, Kroupi has significantly boosted his profile, establishing himself among France’s most promising young players. In his final Ligue 2 season, he scored an impressive 22 goals in 30 games. Continuing that fine form in England, he has found the net 13 times in 33 appearances for the Cherries at just 20 years of age, showcasing immense potential on a much bigger platform.

Versatility makes Kroupi a perfect fit

PSG’s growing interest in Kroupi stems largely from his adaptable playing style, which fits perfectly with Luis Enrique’s tactical demands. Comfortable operating both as a central striker and on the wings, the young Frenchman embodies the dynamic qualities that Enrique values highly. This ability to fill multiple attacking roles has fuelled increasing speculation that Kroupi could be groomed as Dembele’s eventual successor.

Although Dembele remains a vital member of PSG’s current setup, his recurring fitness issues and injury history have raised internal concerns. Therefore, adding a dependable, versatile forward has become a strategic necessity to maintain long-term attacking depth for the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

Strong links could aid the transfer

Another key element that could ease any potential deal is Kroupi’s representation. The player is managed by Moussa Sissoko, a powerful agent with well-established connections within PSG’s hierarchy. Sissoko also represents several major stars currently at the club, including Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue, Randal Kolo Muani, and Dembele himself.

These existing relationships would likely simplify negotiations if sporting advisor Luis Campos decides to push ahead with a formal move for the young forward. Although convincing Bournemouth to part ways with their prized asset will be challenging, PSG possess both the financial strength and the sporting appeal to pursue the transfer successfully.

What lies ahead for Kroupi and PSG?

For now, Kroupi’s priority remains his continued growth and consistent performances with Bournemouth. Meanwhile, PSG will evaluate their summer transfer plans carefully. Despite Dembele contributing 20 goals in 40 matches this season, he featured for only 2,200 minutes due to persistent physical setbacks.

As a result, the French champions are expected to make a concrete move for a long-term replacement. If a deal materialises, Kroupi could find himself joining one of Europe’s most prestigious clubs, marking a major step forward in his already promising career.
