Political turmoil has increased after the entry of BJP's third candidate for Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, today (Monday, June 8) Congress Rajya Sabha candidate Meenakshi Natarajan and BJP's third candidate Mahesh Kewat filed their nominations for Rajya Sabha in the Assembly.
On one hand, BJP seems completely confident about the victory of its third candidate, while on the other hand, Congress is declaring itself united and expressing confidence of winning the third seat. However, who will be crowned victorious will be known only after the results.
After the nomination of Meenakshi Natarajan, Congress State President Jitu Patwari said that BJP has 8 to 10 MLAs less to make the third Rajya Sabha MP, yet it has filed the nomination of its third candidate. Taking aim at the party, he said that BJP wants to dismantle democracy, but all our MLAs are united. He said that Congress will teach a lesson to BJP by sending Meenakshi Natarajan to Rajya Sabha.
Today Madhya Pradesh BJP candidate Mahesh Kewat filed his nomination for Rajya Sabha elections in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. On this occasion, CM said that Mahesh Kevat has submitted the form and in future we will get elected from all our three Rajya Sabha seats. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and our party do not say but directly show. He said that BJP has shown its commitment towards all sections by giving representation in the Upper House. He said that it is the desire of all parties to be victorious in democracy, our candidates will appeal for votes from everyone.

Whereas former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and one of the senior leaders of Congress, Digvijay Singh said that Congress is completely united and we will definitely win the third seat. He said that fielding a third candidate is a misunderstanding on the part of BJP. He said that together we will make Meenakshi Natarajan win. He said that the third candidate given by BJP is just a gimmick, our party is united. On the question of taking the MLAs to a safe place, he said that the party will take a decision on this.
Talking about Rajya Sabha elections, nominations of candidates will be taken till June 8. The scrutiny of papers will take place on June 9. June 11 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. After this, voting will take place on June 18.
According to numerical strength in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, BJP's victory on 2 out of 3 vacant seats and Congress's victory on one was considered certain. BJP has filed nomination of its two candidates (Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Aggarwal). Meenakshi Natarajan is in the fray from Congress side. Today BJP has also nominated its third candidate which has made the contest interesting.
