Banks in certain states across the country will remain closed for various reasons between June 15 and June 21, 2026. According to the holiday calendar issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for a total of 11 days in June, accounting for Saturdays, Sundays, and various festivals.

Where will banks remain closed on June 15?
Banks will not be closed nationwide on Monday, June 15, 2026, but holidays have been declared in some states. Young Mizo Association (YMA) Day will be celebrated in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram; consequently, all banks there will remain closed. Meanwhile, in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, banking services will be affected, and bank branches will remain closed due to the Raja Sankranti festival. In the rest of the country, banks will operate normally on this day.

Banks to remain closed nationwide on June 21
June 21, 2026, falls on a Sunday. As it is a Sunday, all public and private sector banks across the country will remain closed. No cash deposits, cheque clearances, or other branch-related activities will be possible on this day.

Several holidays in the last week of June as well
Banks will also remain closed in various locations during the last week of June due to festivals. On June 25, banks in Vijayawada will remain closed on the occasion of Muharram. The following day, June 26, banking services will be affected in several major cities across the country due to Muharram. Bank branches will remain closed in cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Bhopal, Jammu, and Srinagar. Additionally, banks in Shimla will observe a holiday on June 29 to mark Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti. Meanwhile, banks in Aizawl will remain closed on June 30 due to the regional holiday of Remna Ni.

Digital banking services will remain operational.
Customers need not worry too much about the bank branches being closed. Digital services such as ATMs, internet banking, mobile banking, and UPI will remain available 24/7, just as usual.
