FIXTURES:

Thank you for staying with us throughout the day’s action. We’ll see you again tomorrow!

And here’s how the final standings look as we wrap up the night.

Could this be a generational collapse for Türkiye?

FULL-TIME: Türkiye 0-1 Paraguay

Heartbreak confirmed for Türkiye. The dark horses are out of the World Cup after falling to 10-man Paraguay, despite dominating possession and statistics, and playing with a man advantage for over 45 minutes.

They registered a staggering 32 shots compared to Paraguay’s six — but the South Americans walked away with the win.

HEARTBREAK

What a finale! Arda Güler sent in a perfect cross in stoppage time, and Merih Demiral, positioned right in front of goal, somehow sent it wide by a foot.

The one shining light for Türkiye was Kenan Yildiz, who delivered a spirited individual display that suggests the future remains bright for the Crescent-Stars.

Paraguay played the entire second half with ten men, yet held their nerve superbly to claim a famous win.

Seven minutes of stoppage time were added, but Türkiye couldn’t find a way through.

CHANCE!

A huge save from Orlando Gill kept Paraguay alive as Türkiye drilled a shot from the right edge, followed by a missed rebound from Deniz Gül.

Full credit to Paraguay’s defence for their composure and authority under relentless pressure.

CHANCE!

Deniz Gül went close again, narrowly missing another pinpoint delivery. The Turkish attack just couldn’t convert.

CHANCE!

Goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır was forced into a diving save at the other end, though the attempt was ruled offside. Tempers flared as both sides clashed along the touchline with Galarza and Gill both down injured.

Entering the final ten minutes, Paraguay had completed only eight passes in the second half — a remarkable stat considering their lead.

After the hydration break, tensions cooled slightly, but the drama continued. As Mister Chip noted, only four teams in World Cup history have won a match after playing an entire half a man down — Paraguay joined that elite list tonight.

CHANCE!

Türkiye kept pressing — Yildiz linked up with Gül again, but his soft header was easily collected by Gill.

CHANCE!

Enciso nearly sealed it for Paraguay with a curling strike that flashed just wide of the post. Türkiye threw on substitutes, but the South Americans held firm.

SECOND HALF UNDERWAY

Türkiye started the second half strongly, pushing forward through Arda Güler’s creativity, but lacked cutting edge. Paraguay relied on experience and organisation despite Almiron’s dismissal.

HALF-TIME: Türkiye 0-1 Paraguay

Türkiye trailed at the break but had 45 minutes to rescue their World Cup hopes after Miguel Almiron’s controversial red card for violating FIFA’s new rule against covering the mouth during confrontations — a first in tournament history.

CHANCE!

Early on, Türkiye hit the crossbar from a header, with Gill frozen on the line. They dominated possession — 78% in the first 25 minutes — but lacked precision in front of goal.

Matías Galarza’s thunderous long-range strike in the second minute proved to be the match-winner, curling past a diving Çakır into the bottom-right corner.

GOAL! Türkiye 0-1 Paraguay

The goal came just 64 seconds in — beating Morocco’s earlier record of 71 seconds for the quickest of the tournament. A stunning start that stunned Türkiye.

KICK OFF!

Türkiye began in all white, Paraguay in dark blue, in a raucous atmosphere. The night’s key figures: Miguel Almiron for Paraguay and Arda Güler for Türkiye.

FULL-TIME: Brazil 3-0 Haiti

Brazil cruised to victory in Philadelphia with goals from Matheus Cunha (two) and Vinícius Júnior. Haiti’s defence showed resilience, especially in the second half, but Carlo Ancelotti’s men were too strong overall.

GOAL! Brazil 1-0 Haiti - 23'

Vinícius Júnior’s shot was saved, but Matheus Cunha reacted quickest to slot home the rebound.

GOAL! Brazil 2-0 Haiti - 36'

Cunha doubled the lead with a composed finish into the top corner after running behind the Haitian defence.

GOAL! Brazil 3-0 Haiti - 45+3'

Vinícius Júnior capped off the first half with a deft finish from a through ball. Brazil led 3-0 at the break and managed the game comfortably afterward.

Haiti’s Ricardo Adé nearly scored with a header that Alisson tipped onto the woodwork, but there was no consolation for the Caribbean side.

FULL-TIME: Scotland 0-1 Morocco

Morocco edged past Scotland thanks to Ismael Saibari’s goal just two minutes in — the fastest of the tournament so far. Scotland pushed late on but couldn’t find an equaliser.

GOAL! Scotland 0-1 Morocco - 2'

Saibari fired home from a tight angle after just 71 seconds. Scotland had moments through McTominay and McGinn but lacked composure in the final third.

Neil El Aynaoui’s challenge on McGinn sparked penalty appeals, but the referee waved play on. Morocco held firm through six minutes of stoppage time to secure all three points.

FULL-TIME: USA 2-0 Australia

The USA continued their dream run, defeating Australia to book a spot in the round of 32. An own goal from Cameron Burgess and a header by Alex Freeman sealed the win for the co-hosts in Seattle.

Folarin Balogun was again instrumental, while Weston McKennie and Sergiño Dest impressed throughout. The Americans dominated from start to finish, with the Socceroos managing only one shot after the opening 10 minutes.

The USA have now won their opening two World Cup group matches for the first time since 1930 — a historic moment for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
