India’s young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has once again surprised the cricket world with his stormy batting. At the age of just 15, he achieved a feat which no other batsman had been able to do in the 20-year history of List-A cricket. Vaibhav created a new world record by scoring a half-century in just 11 balls in the final of the tri-series played in Dambulla against Sri Lanka A.
With this explosive innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke the record of Kaushalya Weeraratne of Sri Lanka. Weeraratne had made this record in his name in 2005 by scoring a half-century in 12 balls. Now this achievement has been registered in the account of this young batsman of India.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi was aggressive from the beginning. He played only one dot ball in his first 11 balls and scored runs on the remaining balls. During this, he hit five fours and five sixes. Even small mistakes by the Sri Lankan bowlers proved costly for them and Vaibhav played attractive shots all around the ground. After this, he was moving towards century but missed by 6 runs. In this match, he scored 94 runs in 29 balls at a strike rate of 324.14. This included 10 fours and 8 sixes.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has now reached joint first place in the list of batsmen who have scored the fastest half-century for India. Before him, only Ashutosh Sharma and Akash Chaudhary had done the feat of scoring fifty in 11 balls for India. Now Vaibhav has also become a part of this special list.
