National President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Maulana Syed Arshad Madani often remains in the headlines for his statements. Once again he has given such a statement regarding which a new controversy has arisen. He says that in 1803, when India was under British rule, a call for jihad was given for the independence of the country. Therefore, it is the duty of every Muslim to wage jihad to liberate the country. Along with this he also said that Muslims have done a lot for the country but what are they getting in return today.

Actually, Maulana Syed Arshad Madani had reached Kaliar in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand on Tuesday (23 June). Here he attended the State Executive Committee meeting as the chief guest. During this he addressed Ulemas, Hafiz and people of Muslim community. He raised various issues of national importance including social harmony, democratic system and religious freedom.

'It is the duty of every Muslim to wage Jihad'

In his address, while referring to the struggle for independence, he said that in 1803, when India was under British rule, a call for jihad for independence was given. Therefore, it is the duty of every Muslim to wage jihad to liberate the country. He said that it was the duty of every Muslim to wage jihad to break the chains of slavery. He said that this movement started from Madrassas and those who do not know its history are ignorant.

'Contribution of Muslims in independence'

Underlining the importance of Muslims and mosques in the country's freedom struggle, the President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind said that the present central government led by Narendra Modi is demolishing these mosques. He said that Muslims have contributed to the independence and progress of the country.

Targeted at Modi government

He said, 'After independence, people in power started harming Muslims. Successive governments have kept the Muslim community embroiled in riots and unrest, but the current government is not only against Muslims but against Islam itself. Our religious places are being demolished with the help of bulldozers.

'What are the Muslims giving the country in return today?'

Madani said in his address that the country can run only through love and harmony, yet today mosques and madrassas are being demolished. At the same time, Muslims are becoming victims of lynching by mobs. He questioned what the Muslims have given to the country and what the country is giving them in return today.

'Abandon politics of hatred'

Maulana Madani said that no nation can survive without love and affection. Urging people, he said that if you love your country, then give up the politics of hatred and keep the politics of love alive. He said that the politics of love and mutual harmony should be promoted. He told Muslims to live with love and affection towards everyone, because this is the measure of true loyalty towards the country. He said that failure to do so means that the person is not loyal to the nation.

Gave example of helping flood victims

Referring to the floods in West Bengal, Madani said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind had provided food to people of both Hindu and Muslim communities at that time. He said that the organization has always been at the forefront of social service work. He said that today the houses of the same Muslims are being demolished and madrassas are being closed.
