Tarak mehta's ultah chashmah: Actor Tanmay Vekaria, who became famous in every household by playing the character of 'Bagha' in TV's most popular comedy show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', is going through a very difficult phase at the moment. The shadow of his father is gone from Tanmay's head forever. His father and veteran Gujarati theater and film actor Arvind Vekaria has passed away. Sources told TV9 Hindi Digital that Arvind Vekaria was suffering from age-related diseases for a long time. He breathed his last at his home in Kandivali, Mumbai. His last rites will be performed in the cremation ground on Wednesday evening itself. Tanmay is completely devastated by his father's departure, because his mother also passed away just 8 months ago (October 2025). Losing both parents within a year is a big shock for the actor.
Arvind Vekaria was a big name in Gujarati theatre. He showed his acting skills in excellent Gujarati films like 'Yashoda', 'Chhannu Chamaklo' and 'Rupio Naach Nachave'. Not only Gujarati, but he was also seen in the 90s superhit show 'Shaktimaan'. Interestingly, he said in his son's show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' I also did a cameo role. In an episode of the show, when Atmaram Bhide is short of money and he goes to mortgage Madhavi's jewellery, the goldsmith (jeweler) whose character was shown was none other than Tanmay's father Arvind Vekaria.
tanmay vekariya These days we are seeing a lot of ups and downs in our personal life. Just a few days ago, during the shooting of the show, he started crying bitterly on the set remembering his mother. Seeing Tanmay's condition, the makers stopped the shooting for some time and Asit Kumar Modi himself took care of him. Tanmay had then emotionally told that his mother used to eagerly wait for every episode of 'Baagha' and she was happiest when people praised her work. Tanmay had not yet recovered from the grief of his mother's death when the shadow of his father also disappeared from his mind.
