Kylian Mbappe’s switch to Real Madrid has not unfolded entirely as expected, particularly with his former club Paris Saint-Germain clinching consecutive UEFA Champions League titles after his departure.

Nevertheless, the French forward has gradually settled into life in the Spanish capital, and it now appears to be only a matter of time before he achieves major success once again.

Although Los Blancos have gone two seasons without lifting a trophy, Florentino Perez and his management team are building a formidable squad for the upcoming campaign. This could well mark the foundation of a long-term project that may see Mbappe cement his status as one of the all-time greats.

Football icon Ronaldo Nazario, widely regarded as one of the greatest players ever, recently spoke to the media and was asked about Mbappe’s impact on the modern game and his role at Real Madrid.

Responding to the question, the Brazilian legend offered the highest praise, drawing a direct comparison between Mbappe and himself during his playing days.

“When I watch Kylian Mbappe, he reminds me of myself in my prime,” Ronaldo said in an interview with L’Equipe.

For such words to come from a player of Ronaldo’s stature underscores the immense achievements Mbappe has already accumulated at a relatively young age. Having joined Real Madrid to enhance his legacy, it seems inevitable that he will continue to reach new heights in the years ahead.

Mbappe’s form has been equally impressive on the international stage. He entered the FIFA World Cup in the United States following a standout season with Real Madrid, reaffirming his status as one of football’s most dangerous attackers.

The French captain has carried that form into the tournament and currently ranks among the top scorers after the group stage. Mbappe netted twice in France’s opening match against Senegal and repeated the feat in the following encounter with Iraq. He also contributed two assists in the clash with Norway, although he did not find the back of the net in that match.

At this point, only Lionel Messi has scored more goals than Mbappe, and all signs point towards another remarkable World Cup campaign for the Frenchman. France remain one of the leading favourites to lift the trophy, and with Mbappe in this kind of form, their chances look even stronger.
