Noni Madueke has hailed England stars Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane as the nation’s “most decisive” players in the World Cup so far.
The pair both found the back of the net as England overcame Panama 2-0 in their final group stage encounter. The victory ensured Thomas Tuchel’s side finished at the top of Group L and set up a Round of 32 clash against DR Congo.
“I think they’ve been the most decisive,” Madueke said when discussing Bellingham and Kane. “Two very decisive players. Two players who take responsibility for us.”
He added, “I think Jude, especially in the last game, was unplayable.”
“I genuinely believe he’s a world-class player. Every time I watch him, he delivers the same performance level almost every single time.”
“I don’t see how his most recent display could surprise anyone. That’s exactly what he’s been doing for years now. When I see him perform that way, it just feels normal.”
Madueke continued, “Obviously, you always know what you’re going to get from Harry in terms of goalscoring. I’m truly happy that both of them are playing their best football, and we hope that continues into the knockout rounds because we really need them.”
Across England’s first three matches, Madueke has shared right-wing duties with his Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka. Despite competing for the same position for both club and country, their friendship remains strong.
Madueke explained, “It’s well known that we’re very close. Normally, that could make things a bit awkward, but it doesn’t.”
“I don’t think it affects our relationship at all.”
“We both want the best for each other when we play because, at the end of the day, if he plays well or I play well, it increases the chances of both England and Arsenal winning.”
“In terms of our playing styles, I think I thrive when there’s space, while he’s more effective in tight areas.”
