There is a continuous sharp attack from the opposition on the theft of donations in the Ram temple of Ayodhya. On the one hand, the tenure of the 3-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing several allegations related to donations and financial management of Ram Mandir Trust has been extended by 15 days. On the other hand, Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav made a big allegation and said that the case of donation theft is a big scam and it is a matter of about Rs 20 thousand crores.
The Uttar Pradesh government has extended the tenure of the SIT investigating the case by 15 days. When the case of donation theft came to light, the Yogi government of UP had constituted SIT on June 13 to investigate the allegations and initially it was given 15 days time.
Meanwhile, regarding the alleged misappropriation of donations received for Ram Temple, Samajwadi Party MP and senior leader Ram Gopal Yadav claimed, “Many big people are involved in this and it is a big scam of at least more than Rs 20 thousand crores.” He alleges that many big people are involved in this case, hence the investigation is not reaching the real responsible.

The SP leader also claimed that a large number of devotees have offered huge amounts of valuables, including gold, silver and diamond necklaces, to the Ram temple, but their complete account has not been made public yet. He says that on the basis of available facts it is a scam of Rs 20 thousand crores. The entire matter should be investigated impartially and at a high level. He also claimed that the people of UP are fed up with corruption and repressive policies. Samajwadi Party will form the government in the state next year in the 2027 assembly elections.
Meanwhile, the state government has extended the tenure of the three-member SIT probing the donation theft case by 15 days. On June 13, SIT was formed for investigation and initially it was given 15 days time. An official said that after the initial report was submitted by the SIT on June 23, an FIR was registered in the case on June 25.
The 8 accused named in the FIR, Avinash Shukla, Lavkush Mishra, Anukalp Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, Ramashankar Mishra, Karunesh Pandey, Subhash Srivastava and Ramashankar Yadav alias Tinu Yadav, were arrested. Interrogation of the accused is going on.
An official said that the tenure of the SIT has been extended by 15 days to investigate the case in depth and to expand the scope of investigation. This team includes Lucknow Commissioner IAS Vijay Vishwas Pant, Inspector General of Police Kiran S and Special Secretary of Finance Department Neel Ratan.
