On Friday, July 1, 2 days after the implementation of Delhi's new EV policy, the Delhi government has launched the EV subsidy portal. According to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, people buying vehicles under Delhi's new EV policy can apply to get subsidy through this portal. Credit will be credited to account through DBT within 60 days of application. However, the application for this will have to be made within 30 days of purchasing the vehicle, because the portal will not accept the application for subsidy on the 31st day.

CM Rekha Gupta said that if the EV policy had come earlier, there would not have been so much pressure on our government. In one and a quarter year, the government worked on the works under its control. He further said that such a comprehensive policy was needed to reduce vehicle emissions by 23 percent. Work on this policy was going on for 1 year. He said that the policy was brought for the convenience of the stakeholders, prioritizing the needs of the city.

Preparations for e-waste plant also done

Rekha Gupta said, 'End to end i.e. where to end the policy, preparations for the e-waste plant have also been made. Maximum benefits have been kept for two wheelers. Maximum benefits have been given for three wheelers and four wheelers. There is a scheme for N1, N2 buses also. The government is also a stakeholder in this. 15 thousand crores will be invested. From now on, if the government buys anything or takes it on lease, it will try to ensure that it is an EV only.

Target to plant 70 lakh trees and plants

He further said, '70 lakh trees and plants have to be planted this year. If we want to reduce dust, trees are necessary. Amit Shah ji will start this drive on 7th July. People register through the EV Policy portal and you will receive your DBT within 60 days of receiving the RC. We have also given the pending amounts of the previous government.

EV policy effective till 2030

The EV policy has come into effect from July 1, which will remain effective till March 31, 2030. At the same time, the EV subsidy portal has been created with the aim of ensuring smooth and hassle-free distribution of subsidy. Dealers will have to inform customers at the time of booking the vehicle whether the electric vehicle model they are purchasing is eligible for government incentives or not.
